TANITA PRODUCT LIMITED WARRANTY
What Does the Warranty Cover?
Your Tanita product is warranted to the original purchaser to be free from manufacturer defects under normal use (see product manual for warranty duration). Consumer products are designed for personal use only. Tanita Corporation of America reserves the right to nullify the warranty agreement should a consumer product be used in a commercial environment.
This warranty applies only to products purchased from authorized Tanita dealers and is void if the product has been tampered with or mistreated, or if the defect is related to servicing or parts not supplied by TANITA. Our obligation under this warranty is limited solely to the charge of repairing the product, plus the cost of parts or, at the option of TANITA, replacing the product with an equivalent model. There are no express or implied warranties except as listed above.
Tanita is not liable for incidental or consequential damages for failure or malfunction of the product and any recovery may not be greater than the purchase price paid for this product. Some states do not allow limitation on how long an implied warranty lasts, or the exclusion or limitation of incidental or consequential damages, so the above limitations may not apply to you. This warranty gives you specific legal rights and you may also have other rights which vary from state to state.
Who is Covered?
The original purchaser of the product must have proof of purchase (receipt) to receive warranty service.
Dealers or retail stores selling Tanita products do not have the right to alter, modify, or any way change the terms and conditions of this warranty. No person is authorized to change the terms of this warranty.
What is Excluded?
Your warranty does not cover normal wear of parts or damage resulting from any of the following: negligent use or misuse of the product, use on improper voltage or current, use contrary to the operating instruction, abuse including tampering, damage in transit, or unauthorized repair or alternations. Further, the warranty does not cover natural disasters such as fire, flood, hurricanes and tornadoes. This warranty gives you specific legal rights, and you may also have other rights that vary from state to state or province to province or jurisdiction to jurisdiction.
If your scale is not covered by the warranty, or has been damaged, please refer to the Returns section of this website.
