Tanita's PH-740 is designed with the patient's needs in mind. The extra-wide 30." x 25.", low-profile platform makes it perfectly suited for patients who have trouble stepping up and onto traditional physician scales. The scale features an automatic body mass index (BMI) calculation and RS-232 and USB outputs, which accommodate most electronic medical record (EMR) applications. The durable, yet portable, unit can be easily broken down into three modules - the display, the platform (which houses the load cell), and the pillar - and is equipped with casters for easy mobility. The PH-740 also features a mechanical height rod, allowing patients height to be taken the same time as weight. Other features include a large 2-line LCD display and an instant-on capability. Simply step on and weigh - no need to push buttons and wait for the results. "The PH-740 introduces the next generation of acute care scales, by incorporating state-of-the-art technology within the most user-friendly package in the industry," said Heather Bundgaard, Marketing Manager, Tanita Corporation of America. "Physicians will now be able to provide a more accurate diagnosis by allowing a broader range of patients to be weighed, including those with physical disabilities." The PH-740's ability to be assembled and broken down is key since all pieces are independent, with simple connectors used to attach the adjoining pieces. The modular design will allow for years of serviceability, should it ever be required. This capability, paired with the fact that no tools are required, makes for quick assembly and disassembly in any setting. The PH-740 is powered by 4 AA batteries or AC adapter (both included) and has a 1,000 lb. (450 kg) weight capacity, with a 0.2 lb. (100 g) graduation for accurate readings. | |
